Nursery Open Morning:
Friday 28 November, 9.30 – 10.30am
High March is a very happy and thriving independent day school for girls aged 3 – 11 in Beaconsfield, Buckinghamshire with its own highly sought after Nursery provision. Our Nursery is primarily for girls but we do have a small number of places for boys. Children are eligible to join us in the September after they turn three.
Come and see what makes our Nursery so special!

Our primary aim in Nursery is to create a caring and nurturing environment in which every child will feel loved and supported and is able to develop and mature at her own pace.
In Nursery, children learn best through play and we provide a stimulating environment with a wide range of play opportunities both inside and outside the classroom. Nursery children have their own well-resourced outdoor classroom and can free flow between indoors and outdoors. There are also extensive opportunities for play in the Junior House garden.
A warm welcome
To ensure a smooth transition into our Nursery, our Early Years staff meet the new children in their current setting to begin the process of getting to know them. In addition, we invite the new children (and their parents!) to a Teddy Bears’ picnic in the summer term before they join us so they can meet their new Nursery teacher, see their new classroom and generally begin to get to know High March. Parents are not forgotten either! They are invited to a presentation about the Nursery year ahead so we can share with them everything they need to know.
Skilled, experienced & caring staff
We have two parallel Nursery classes, Nursery Wrens and Nursery Robins, with highly experienced and caring staff. From the moment a child joins us, he/she is welcomed into our warm and vibrant community and, in no time at all, will feel part of the High March family.
Our Nursery setting – the details
Attendance is 5 mornings, from 8.30am to 1pm, to include a mid-morning snack and a healthy, cooked lunch. Afternoon attendance is also an option. Children benefit from specialist teaching in Music, PE, Ballet (optional) and, in the summer term, attend Forest School. Extra-curricular swimming is also on offer in our impressive, on-site indoor 20-metre swimming pool.
Wraparound care options available
We provide wraparound care, free of charge, for busy parents from 8.00am to 5.30pm. We also offer a breakfast club – ‘Up with the Larks’ – from 7.30am and children can also join our ‘Late Stay’ club from 5.30pm to 6pm, to include a light tea. Both ‘Up with the Larks’ and ‘Late Stay’ incur a small charge.
After Nursery – what next?
Our Nursery provides a wonderfully smooth transition to Reception, the start of full time education. It is our expectation that all girls in our Nursery will join our Reception and they all have a guaranteed place.
“High March provides a wonderfully, caring environment which nurtures the girls, encouraging their self-confidence, self-esteem and independence.”
