Without exception, every child has huge potential and at High March we help our pupils to fulfil their potential through guidance, encouragement and challenge.
We place great value on personal development and our approach, which embeds the principles of growth mindset, metacognition and mindfulness, has its foundations in neuroscience evidence and high-quality educational research.
Growth mindset – develops self-motivation and strength of character which is needed for success. Children think for themselves, have the confidence and courage to be stretched and show determination and resilience in tackling challenges.
Metacognition – through feedback and reflection in class the children grow to understand how they learn best. Developing learning strategies which can be applied across the curriculum.
Mindfulness – nurtures self-awareness and teaches children to watch and understand their thoughts. Helping them not to feel to overwhelmed and developing their ability respond calmly.
