Academic Results
We believe that it is important to offer the girls and their parents a wide range of choices at 11 and so many girls will take both the Buckinghamshire County 11+ examinations and entrance examinations for a variety of independent senior schools, both boarding and day.
Buckinghamshire County 11+ Examinations
In Year 6, the girls’ final year at High March, the majority of pupils take the Buckinghamshire County 11+ examinations in Verbal, Mathematical and Non-Verbal Reasoning for entry into the local state grammar schools, including Beaconsfield High School, Dr Challoner’s High School, Sir William Borlase School and Wycombe High School. We are very proud of our impressive 11+ results which compare extremely favourably with the County-wide pass rate of 31%. In 2024, we celebrated an excellent qualification rate of 71%; in 2023 it was 68% and in both 2022 and 2021, it was 82%.
Entrance Examinations and Scholarships for Independent Senior Schools at 11+
The 11+ Common Entrance syllabus is taught in English, Mathematics and Science and this equips the girls for any of the entrance examinations set by the senior school of their choice. Girls are also prepared for scholarship examinations and the school is very proud of its success rate in academic, music and general scholarships.
In the academic year 2023 to 2024, the following scholarships were awarded to High March pupils:
