Reception

The Reception year, in which girls turn five, is the last year of the Foundation Stage and is the time when solid foundations are laid which serve as the basis for all future learning.

Year 1

As the girls move from the Foundation Stage into Key Stage 1, we continue to provide a caring and nurturing atmosphere to ensure that the girls flourish socially, emotionally and academically.

Year 2

Year Two are the oldest girls in Junior House and, as such, they are encouraged to take increasing responsibility for themselves and their own learning.

Year 3

Year 3 is the first year in Upper School and, thanks to the careful preparation undertaken in Year 2, the transition to Year 3 is very smooth indeed.

One of the main features of this year is the introduction of specialist teaching throughout the curriculum and setting in mathematics.

Year 5 is an important year as both pupils and parents look forward to the future and possible senior schools at the end of Year 6.

In the Autumn term the girls are busy with the Bucks County 11+ examinations and getting ready for the independent senior school entrance examinations which take place in January.
