The Weather Monster

Our Spring term topic in Reception is all about the weather and, as an introduction to the subject, ‘My Friend The Weather Monster’ by Steve Smallman was read to the girls. The story is about a monster who controls the weather with his emotions. The girls had fun discussing how if he cried, it rained,  if he was happy the sun shone, but when he was angry there was a thunderstorm!

Reception then created their own weather monsters and thought about how they themselves felt; it was lovely to see the girls’ creativity coming to the fore.

Definitely a sunny day in Reception!
