A deep sea diving adventure!

20.01.2025

On Friday, the girls in Reception and Key Stage 1 took part in a Perform workshop in school.

Diver Rachel took the girls on an exciting undersea adventure where the “Pearl of the Ocean” was stolen by a deep-sea creature.  The girls learned about various underwater animals, including octopuses, seahorses, clownfish and minnows.  They were introduced to the code word “starfish,” and whenever it was said, the girls had to freeze during games.  The group played a fun game of “Head, Shoulders, Knees and Toes,” followed by pretending to swim and explore diving equipment, such as wetsuits, goggles and oxygen tanks. The girls mimed putting on the gear, then took part in some dancing and stretching.  Next, the girls pretended to be different sea creatures, acting out various sizes (short/tall, small/large).  They were also introduced to Dolly Dolphin, who is six years old but acts like a baby and the girls mimicked her playful actions.

In the final part of the adventure, the girls journeyed to the deep-sea creature’s cave, where they had to pretend to be starfish to find the magic pearl. Once they found the pearl, they escaped with it and celebrated by enjoying the deep-sea creature’s juicy chocolate cake!

Needless to say, lots of fun was had by all!
