A friendly gala for our Year 5 & 6 swimmers
03.03.2026
Our Year 5 and Year 6 swimmers took part in a friendly swimming gala at the end of last week, with nine Year 6 girls and ten Year 5 girls proudly representing the school. Unlike our usual competitive fixtures, this event focused on participation, collaboration and the joy of racing rather than recorded results.
In the relays and the squadron events, teams were even mixed across both schools, giving the girls a wonderful opportunity to swim alongside new teammates. This created a fantastic atmosphere of encouragement and shared enthusiasm for the sport. Throughout the gala, our swimmers demonstrated excellent attitude and sportsmanship. Their supportive spirit was evident poolside and in the water, and several of their performances were noticed and praised by coaches from the opposing school.
A special mention must go to our Swimming Captains, whose strong leadership, calm team management and kindness set the tone for the entire group. They inspired our swimmers and ensured everyone felt confident and included.
Overall, it was a thoroughly enjoyable afternoon of swimming, teamwork and school pride. Well done to all the girls involved!
