A friendly gala for Year 4
30.11.2023
A group of fourteen swimmers from Years 4 and 5 travelled to St Pirans after school earlier this week to take part in a friendly gala.
Our focus for the day was very much on the sheer enjoyment of racing, setting aside the pressure of results or the expectation of a win. Our girls swam multiple times with endless energy! It was a pleasant surprise to find them not only not tired from all the swimming, but also eagerly asking for more racing! Their enthusiasm was infectious, and they felt quite sad when the gala came to an end.
A big ‘thank you’ must go to Ophelia, whose support for our Year 4 squad swimmers and general sportsmanship were truly admirable.
We would like to congratulate all our swimmers for some great swims, not to mention their boundless enthusiasm. Well done, girls!
