A Maths extravaganza
15.06.2023
On Tuesday 13 June, twelve Year 5 girls travelled to Queen Anne’s School, in Caversham, to take part in a Maths Extravaganza.
The competition was based around a jungle theme with a mixture of individual and team rounds. In the individual rounds, the girls were timed whilst working on a range of activities, which included times tables, repeated addition and missing number puzzles. This was followed by the team part of the competition involving completing animal tangrams and a maths relay race, all of which made for a fun and frantic end to the afternoon!
Out of a total of six teams, High March achieved first and third place overall against opposition teams which also included Year 6 pupils. Congratulations to Shaan, Charlotte, Harmeen, Annabelle, Ariya and Tove for achieving third place and to Astrid, Karman, Ava, Sanaya, Sophia and Evani for achieving first place.
A great set of results!
