A scientific day out for Year 5
07.03.2024
As part of our programme of educational visits, Year 5 recently enjoyed a science-packed visit to the Science Oxford Centre. Their visit consisted of a workshop and a theatrical presentation, as well as the opportunity to explore the aptly-named Exploration Zone… Our workshop was based around materials and the girls were set the challenge of investigating a range of them and how they behaved when heated – with fire! Everyone was super sensible, of course, and their verbal and written observations were scientist-worthy.
Next, the girls were treated to visually spectacular presentation on the topic of Light. This combined ‘oooh’ provoking demonstrations and thought-provoking activities in order to bring the various elements of this topic to life.
Finally, they had a fabulous time working around the Exploration Zone, which is jam-packed with practical, challenging and super-fun activities to try!
A fabulous day was had by all!
