A sea of yellow, gold and orange
10.03.2020
On Wednesday 4th March High March celebrated Daffodil Day, in aid of raising money for the two chosen Daffodil House charities, Marie Curie and Shelter. The whole school dressed in yellow, gold, orange and white to mark the occasion. The Year 6 Daffodil team, led by Ellie and Jessica did a fantastic job of organising the day. In the morning the Daffodil team created the Lemon Drop Sweet Shop, where the whole school could buy delicious cakes and sweet treats. Mrs Harrison also hosted the quiz “Who Wants to be a Minionaire?” where the girls taking part were asked true or false questions in order to win a huge yellow minion! So many girls had bought in some fantastic cakes, so thank you to all of them for supporting Daffodil House.
At lunch time the students were treated to many amazing activities including the Human Fruit Machine, The Yellow Brick Road Game and a slime making stall, which was very popular! Much fun was had by all and it was lovely seeing the whole school getting involved.
I would like to say a huge thank you to the Daffodil Team, and a special thank you to the Daffodil House Mums, Mrs Harrison, Mrs Rowlands and Mrs Lafferty for helping to set up and providing so many delicious cakes and fabulous props which made the day a huge success. The girls made over £800, £100 more than last year’s total – an amazing achievement.
Well done, everyone!
