A strong performance in the first gala of the year

03.11.2026

Just before half-term, our Year 4, 5 and 6 swimmers took part in their first gala of the year at Maltman’s Green School, competing against a number of local schools. The girls performed brilliantly throughout the afternoon, achieving several first-place finishes in individual events and enjoying great success in the relay races. Although we are still awaiting the official results, the overall outcome looked extremely positive and gave us a very promising start to the season. Just as impressive as the swimming was the team spirit on display, with the girls constantly encouraging and supporting one another both in and out of the pool.

We were particularly proud of the way the girls represented the school. Their behaviour was exemplary, showing respect to officials and competitors and remaining quiet at the start of each race. A special mention must go to our Swim Captains, who did an outstanding job marshalling the teams, directing swimmers to the correct lanes and helping the gala run smoothly. Their leadership and organisation were invaluable throughout the event. The gala has also provided useful feedback as we continue working to maintain our high swimming standards, and we look forward to building on this success in future competitions. Well done to all the girls for making us so proud.
