A superb performance at ‘Youth Speaks’!

We are incredible proud of three of our Year 5 girls who participated in the Youth Speaks event at St Mary’s School, Gerrards Cross on Thursday 5th February. This annual public speaking competition, which is judged by members of the Rotary Club, is designed to empower children to present, argue, reason and debate in a public forum showcasing their presentation and public speaking skills.

Annie, Eva and Mahi delivered their speech in front of an audience of adults and children from other participating schools and were word-perfect, clear and engaging. Their speech was about endangered animals and, in the weeks before the competition, the girls put a lot of work into researching, writing and rehearsing it – all in their own time. They should be extremely proud of themselves. On the evening, Annie received the award for ‘Highly Commended Speaker’ – well done, Annie!

All the girls enjoyed this competition immensely and feel they have gained so much from the experience. Congratulations, girls!
