A trip to the allotments

Year 2 enjoyed their recent trip to the allotments where they were met by Kevin who showed the girls around the raised beds where vegetables and fruit were growing.

The girls used their mapping skills to draw a plan of the planting and were able to label each section. Kevin allowed the girls to plants some runner beans and he will keep us informed of their progress. The girls made their own packed lunch of sandwiches, pasta salad and fruit salad. They did their best to make sure their lunch consisted of a ‘pyramid of food’.

It must have been delicious as it was eaten with great enthusiasm!
