All things Egyptian!
It was wonderful to see the costumes of our Year 3 pupils as they came to school for our Educational Visits day at Upper School. Our Ancient Egyptian day was held by the fantastic ‘History Off The Page’ and there were certainly plenty of activities to occupy the girls.
As part of the narrative, the girls were ‘workers’ in the morning, producing clay canopic jars, a book of the dead, a wax perfume pot and tile painting amongst other things! After lunch, we all gathered for a feast for the Pharaoh and his Queen and we were served cheese, bread and fruit while we were entertained with the girls’ dances, mimes and acting.
All in all, it was a great way to bring the culture and history of Ancient Egypt to life!
