On Saturday 26 September, the U11A Netball Team travelled to North London Collegiate School (NLCS) to compete in their first tournament of the academic year. The girls were excited to test themselves against strong opposition and represented the school superbly throughout the day.
The team made an excellent start to the tournament, winning their opening Pool A match against Notting Hill and Ealing High School 4–2. They continued their impressive form with a convincing 6–1 victory over the NLCS A Team. Confidence continued to grow as they defeated Sarum Hall 7–3 before finishing the pool stage with an outstanding 8–2 win against Newland House.
Their unbeaten run meant they qualified as winners of Pool A and progressed to the semi-finals. There they faced a strong Heath Mount side in a closely contested match. Despite a determined performance, the girls were narrowly defeated 5–2.
Showing great resilience and character, the team quickly refocused for the third-place play-off. They produced another excellent performance, securing a 5–2 victory and finishing an impressive third overall in a highly competitive tournament.
Well done to all the girls for their fantastic effort, teamwork and sportsmanship. They showcased their excellent netball skills throughout the day and should be extremely proud of their achievements.
