Back in time to Ancient Egypt

Year 3 were transported to Ancient Egypt on our Educational Visits day last week. Everyone looked splendid in their Egyptian costumes! 

‘Off the Page’ ran our fun-filled day starting with a range of practical activities in the morning. The girls made Egyptian items such as wax perfume pyramids, clay canopic jars and went on to carve soap, write Egyptian hieroglyphs and embalm wooden mummies! After their busy morning, the girls enjoyed their non-Egyptian packed lunches!

In the afternoon, we were all invited to the Pharaoh’s and Queen’s banquet. Servants brought round refreshments, while we enjoyed performances of a dance, a mime and an appearance from the Apis Bull to predict the future!

We really enjoyed the stories shared and everyone had a wonderful, immersive day.
