Celebrating World Book Day at Junior House

06.03.2025

What a fantastic time we have had celebrating World Book Day today!  The school was filled with excitement as the children arrived in their amazing costumes, bringing their favourite book characters to life.  There was a wide range of characters from classic heroes/heroines to modern favourites and the creativity and enthusiasm were wonderful to see.  Thanks must also go to our amazing Junior House staff for joining in the fun and dressing up as well!

Thank you to all the families who sent in pictures of the children, ‘being caught reading!’  We have displayed them in a corridor for everybody to admire. We also had a Reading Challenge for Key Stage 1 pupils, a Book Scavenger Hunt for Foundation Stage pupils, a competition to make the best book mark, not forgetting the opportunity to buy books at the Scholastic Book Fayre.

An assembly on Book Week, led by the English prefects, was also part of the day and the Reception girls also had stories read to them by the Year 6 Library prefects.

All in all, a busy day jam-packed with reading activities!
