Cracking the codes
19.11.2024
On Wednesday 13th November, two teachers and nine sixth formers from Wychwood School visited High March to run a workshop for Year 5.
Our time at the code workshop was great. We learnt about chromatography and the substitution cypher code. Our personal favourite was chromatography because it was fascinating learning that you can separate the colours from an ink pen. The substitution cypher code was fun, but it was quite straightforward whereas the chromatography was a fun challenge. Once we had completed these codes, we used them to solve the crime, which wasn’t too difficult but wasn’t too easy either. Overall, the experience was amazing! We would definitely recommend it.
All the team were excellent, especially one girl called Nia because she was really helpful and explained things clearly.
