Designing a cake for Mary Berry

In July all schools in the area were invited to participate in a very special ‘Great British Bake-Off’ style event held at Buckinghamshire House in Gerrards Cross. Several High March girls were keen to enter the ‘Design a Cake’ competition, to be judged by Mary Berry, the celebrity baker and former star of the television programme, ‘The Great British Bake-Off’.

We are thrilled that Mary loved the design produced by Joely, in Year 6, awarding her first place and a prize of book tokens. The standard of the entries was high and Jo Swerling, manager of Buckingham House, and a former High March alumna herself, was particularly pleased that Joely had scooped first prize.
