Exploring the world of puppetry
05.11.2024
Our Year 4 pupils had an incredible day with the ‘Paper Puppets’ recently, run by the talented Stephen and Charon. The day kicked off with some fun and engaging warm-up games, setting a lively and creative tone. Stephen and Charon explained the process of making paper puppets, and showed the girls the three main principles namely breath, focus and weight and then the girls got to work creating their own people puppets.
Once the puppets were crafted, the girls teamed up in groups of three. They worked together to move their puppets around the room, bringing them to life with impressive coordination and creativity. The girls then developed their own short scenes, which they performed for each other. It was inspiring to see them offer positive peer feedback, using the insights from others to improve their performances.
In the afternoon, the workshop took an exciting turn as the girls used their puppets in a thrilling dance battle, followed by an energetic assault course challenge! Their teamwork and dedication really shone through, and it was clear they learned some fantastic skills in puppetry.
A huge well done to all the girls for their hard work, and a big thank you to Stephen, Charon, and the Paper Puppets team for such a fun and enriching experience!
