High March dominates at the Hatch End Triathlon
23.05.2025
We were delighted to take a team of 18 girls from the High March Triathlon Club to race in the Hatch End Triathlon recently. Many of the girls also had their siblings and parents racing too and the result was a joyous combination of camaraderie, healthy competition and huge amounts of fun.
The race format follows British Triathlon rules with Years 4 and 5 racing in TriStar 1 and Year 6 racing in TriStar 2. TriStar 1 involved swimming 165m, cycling 2km and running 1.2km.TriStar 2 involved swimming 212m, cycling 3km and running 1.8km.
High March dominated the podium taking all 3 places in TriStars1 and 2 of the 3 places in TriStars2. Congratulations to Primrose, Olivia, Peyton, Iris and Zoe on their podium places. Not wishing to detract from the superb racing, we are super proud of the girls for whom just completing the event was a huge achievement. Triathlon is complicated in that you need to be fit but also disciplined and organised. Particularly heartening were the many compliments that we received from several race officials, parents and teachers from other schools about the behaviour, preparedness and overall enthusiasm demonstrated by all of our girls.
Once again, to all our girls and their families, thank you – you did yourselves and us proud.
We look forward to the triathlons taking place later this term!
