Maths skills at the ready!
On 6 March, Gayhurst School hosted their annual Year 4 Maths Challenge Afternoon.
Jasmin, Bethany, Etta and Pippa were selected to represent High March and in pairs they completed a number of maths tasks, covering a variety of mathematical skills. The girls started with some addition at speed to warm up their brains. The rounds which followed involved totalling dice scores, sequences, tangrams, addition of money, sudoku and solving problems. The girls worked through each challenge with determination and a high level of concentration. There were certainly plenty of smiles by the end of the afternoon when all the boys and girls entering were congratulated and the prizes awarded.
Well done to the High March teams for participating with such enthusiasm. Special congratulations must go to Etta and Pippa who were placed second overall out of 26 teams. The great attitude of all the competitors was rewarded with a mathematical magic display and some delicious cake!
