Medals for our Year 5 and Year 6 Swimmers at the ESSA Gala
26.11.2025

On Friday, 21st November, six girls from Year 5 and two girls from Year 6 qualified and took part in the Individual ESSA competition at Woodside leisure centre at Watford. This is one of the most competitive swimming galas in which we participate with qualifying times and strong swimmers from several schools.
The girls were all keen to perform their absolute best and, of course, to measure up convincingly against what was clearly some serious competition. For some of our swimmers this was their first ESSA gala and they were understandably apprehensive.
Despite the nerves, we produced some excellent results, particularly in Year 5 where we won a gold for freestyle, silver and bronze in breaststroke and butterfly, bronze in individual medley and backstroke. Year 6 also won a silver in backstroke. Each and every girl performed exceptionally well on the night with some girls producing some impressive personal bests: we are very proud of all of them!
A special thank you to the parents and families who gave up their time to help with time-keeping and organising the gala. It was lovely to have so much heart-warming support – there was very definitely a sense of ‘High March Community’ on the night.
