Nursery learn about the Colour Monster!

‘The Colour Monster’ is a book aimed primarily at children and it explores feelings and emotions in a child appropriate way. This week, Nursery have had a fantastic time learning all about The Colour Monster. They have discussed different feelings, and they know how to express how they are feeling in terms of different colours: green for calm and relaxed; yellow for happy and excited; blue for sad; and red if they are feeling angry. In Nursery, everyone wants to be “green” and they know ways to calm themselves down, using deep breathing exercises.

To celebrate the story, Nursery children have made their own Colour Monsters to display and they have sorted the Colour Monster’s emotions into different jars. The children particularly enjoyed making their own sensory bottles with colourful glitter!
