It was that time again – caps on, goggles down, and competitive spirits high! The annual High March vs Davenies swimming gala is always a highlight on our summer calendar, and this year was no different. In a long-standing tradition, the girls of High March took on the boys of Davenies in a fun but fiercely contested meet to round off the swimming season.

And after years (yes, years) of glorious victory for High March, a dramatic plot twist occurred in 2025… Davenies won! By a single point. Just one.

Despite the narrow loss, the High March girls put in a fantastic performance, showing exceptional technique, team spirit, and good humour throughout. There were plenty of personal bests, some very close finishes, and more cheering than you’d hear at a rock concert. The relays were electric, the individual events tightly fought, with every girl trying her best.

Well done to Year 6 for cheering everyone on and giving their best performance on their last gala for High March. A huge thank you and well done to the Swim Captains for their contribution, help and support during this year. We wouldn’t have done it without you!

We would like to thank Davenies for being such good hosts, and we graciously congratulate them on their win. We’ll see you in 2026, Davenies… and we’ll be ready.
