Safe scootering

As part of our vibrant and active School Travel Plan, a number of Year 1 and 2 girls have been taking part in Scooter Skills Training sessions during Thursday and Friday lunchtimes. The girls have two half hour sessions in the Junior House playground and a third on the pavement in Sandelswood End. The girls are learning to use their scooters as a fun and active way of revising and reinforcing vital pedestrian safety messages. The training covers the appropriate use and speed of scooters when sharing pavements with pedestrians and includes discussion and practice of who has priority at driveways and when crossing roads.
