Taking music into the community

On Sunday 23rd June a group of High March and Davenies children came together to create a fantastic musical experience for the residents of the Sunrise Care Home.

The full house of residents, supportive parents and siblings witnessed great focus, skill and artistry from Harris and Thea, Ralph and Hugh, Joe and Sophie, George and Zoe, Elvira and the two parent supporting acts, Tessa Suggett (soprano) and Dr Elena Vorotko (piano). Music from Baroque right through the modern times was sung and played on piano, flute, French Horn, violin, cello, trombone and euphonium. Children’s ages varied from 5 to 13 and they all showed their joy at making music and sharing it with the listeners.

The concert was a great success and we look forward to coming back to Sunrise with more young talents and more music.
