The Weather Monster

During the past week in Reception, the girls have been enjoying the story of The Weather Monster. It is a story all about a lonely monster who lives outside a village on his own who can control the weather with how he is feeling: when he is happy, it is sunny and when he is sad, it rains. One day a brave little boy decides to go and visit the Weather Monster to see if he can get it to stop raining…

The girls did a piece of independent writing based on the Weather Monster and, specifically, how they thought he was feeling.  They worked very hard, using their sound mats, to sound out the words independently.

Next the girls had an Art lesson in which they chose plenty of brightly coloured paints to create their very own Weather Monsters. The paintings were all splendid –  a real riot of colour!
