Tournament finalists!
17.04.2024
At the end of last term, eight Year 6 girls set off very early to Bryanston School in Dorset for their IAPS Netball National Finals including Shaan, who was supporting her team despite having a broken wrist. The girls were very excited and keen to play after all their hard work in training and matches leading up to this important event; it is a 5 a side Bee Netball Tournament where all the players have to rotate their playing position after every half, so everyone played every position during the tournament at least once.
The girls started strongly in their Pool Group 1, winning their first game 7-4 against Barrow Hill School. They then had a couple of very close losses, missing out by just one goal, but went on to win their last game in the pool against Warwick Prep, the team who came top of the pool group, by 6-4. As a result of these two wins, the girls progressed to the Plate Quarter Final against Lambrook. They Unfortunately, despite playing some absolutely superb netball, they missed out on a win by a very narrow margin.
Mrs Butterfield, Head of PE, and the whole squad would like to extend a big ‘thank you’ to Mrs Green for all her hard work helping to coach the girls and for accompanying them on the day. The girls have all been very committed this season and Mrs Butterfield would like to put it on record that they have been an absolute pleasure to coach and to watch their progress.
