Tournament winners!

At the end of the Spring term, the Year 6 Netball Team travelled to Beechwood Park School for their end of season Bee Netball Tournament.

The girls were placed in Group C and played 3 group stage matches. In the first match, they played Milton Keynes Prep School and they were on good form, winning 13-8. Next they played St Benedict’s School; this was when the girls really started to get their rotations working, going on to win 11-0. In their final match they needed a win to be top of their group, as this would allow them to progress through to the knockout stages. They did exactly that and won 19-0 against North London Collegiate B, thus qualifying for the quarter finals. Here they met Berkhamsted School; the girls worked brilliantly together as a team and produced a great win: 13-3.

Next it was the semi-finals where they came up against some strong opposition in the shape of North London Collegiate School. Undaunted, the High March team showed great resilience, winning 10-7. The girls were really excited knowing they had made the final and with medals in prospect. The final was a very close battle and after full time it was 8-8. Five minutes of extra time followed on but the girls kept their nerve and, to their delight, they were able to score 3 more goals, resulting in a final score of 11-8. What a fantastic result!

The girls were well and truly thrilled to finish the netball season on such a high. To their delight, they all received gold medals and a large cup. To win this tournament was a lovely way for the squad to round off their netball career at High March before they move on to secondary school in September. We are so proud of them all and indeed all the girls in the year group who have done such a fantastic job of representing High March throughout the season.
