Winners of the Division 10 semi-finals

28.02.2025

On Tuesday, a total of twenty-five girls from Year 4, Year 5 and Year 6 competed in a Division 10 swimming gala at St. Helen’s. with six schools in total competing (three girls’ schools and three boys’ schools), the competition was always going to be intense, and all swimmers were, of course, eager to give their best performances. This event was a Division 10 semi-final, and the organizers took great pains to ensure that all rules were strictly followed, as the next Division 10 event will be the final.

Our girls embraced the challenge and performed exceptionally well, securing first place in Backstroke for all year groups, Breaststroke for Year 4, Butterfly for all year groups and Freestyle for all year groups. We also won first place in all the freestyle and medley relays.

Thanks to this exceptional array of wins, we won this gala. Just as pleasing, though, was the remarkable independence demonstrated by Years 5 and 6; they made sure they were on time for their individual events and organised their relays without much guidance from teachers. Our Year 4 girls are also making progress towards greater independence and responsibility.

A special well done to our swim captains for their leadership and support to all swimmers. Your presence and work ethic are truly inspirational.

We now eagerly await the finals, where medals will be there for the taking—fingers crossed! Well done, High March!
