Year 1 embrace the beautiful, Autumn nature

Year 1 had a wonderful time at Forest School, embracing the opportunity to explore, create and play amongst the beautiful autumn nature. It was a fantastic day filled with creativity, teamwork, imagination and lots of fun!

The girls enjoyed using special equipment to carefully drill holes into conkers, which they then transformed into gorgeous necklaces, bracelets and ornaments. They also wrapped conkers in fabric to create their own little dolls and people, which quickly became characters in imaginative fairy and adventure role play.

We explored some of the wonderful plants and berries found in the forest too. The girls used fragrant lavender to make beautiful, scented bags and other creations, while elderberries and blackberries were used to create colourful tie-dye fabric creations. It was lovely to see how creatively the girls used these natural materials and took inspiration from everything around them.

Of course, there was plenty of time for outdoor play! The hammock, swing and water and mud kitchen were firm favourites, while the apple-rolling tubes provided a brilliant opportunity for teamwork as the girls worked together to send apples racing through the forest.

It was a truly lovely day, and the girls thoroughly enjoyed getting outside, getting creative and discovering all that autumn in the forest has to offer.
