Year 2 enjoy a Florence Nightingale workshop

Year 2’s Florence Nightingale workshop day was, as always, a resounding success. The girls were enthusiastic and fully engaged as they helped Florence prepare for her journey to Scutari Hospital in Turkey.

Throughout the morning, the girls created candle holders, medicine boxes, medals, diaries and lockets. They were also interviewed by Florence for their chosen roles, which included nurses, doctors, cooks, cleaners, gardeners and laundry workers.

The girls impressed everyone with their historical investigation skills as they carefully examined real Victorian artefacts to work out who the lost suitcases belonged to.

In the afternoon, the girls threw themselves into role-play activities, taking on the roles of injured patients, nurses, cooks and cleaners, bringing history vividly to life.
