Year 2 visit a synagogue
17.06.2024
On Tuesday 11th June, Year 2 visited Watford Synagogue as part of their work on Judaism.
The girls were very excited to see the ark holding the Torah scrolls. Mr Fisher allowed the girls to hold various artefacts such as the mezuzah, which holds a prayer which is placed on an entrance door, the tefillin and head pieces called kippah. They were also able to look at Hebrew scripts and have a go at blowing a special horn called a shofar. The girls were able to demonstrate what they had learned in class by asking and answering questions about the synagogue. To their credit, Mr Fisher commented on how well behaved High March girls are.
