Year 3’s first experience of a gala

On Thursday November 13, all the Year 3 swim squad took part in a swimming gala with their counterparts in Year 3 at Davenies, the boys’ prep school in Beaconsfield. It was their first ever Year 3 gala and our girls were excited but also a little apprehensive!

Despite their nerves and the fear of the unknown, our swimmers did brilliantly, swimming in all of the races with a competitive edge and real focus. For this gala we agreed that the main focus was learning and understanding how a gala works and, consequently, there would not be any results issued. Our swimmers now have gained valuable experience which will set them up well for their future swimming galas and, judging from their performances yesterday, the future looks very promising!
