Year 4 visit Greatmoor

On Wednesday 26^th February, Year 4 visited Greatmoor in Aylesbury, as part of their Geography topic. Greatmoor is a facility which uses non-recyclable waste to generate electricity and the girls were keen to find out more.

The girls took part in several hands-on activities investigating waste reduction, re-use and recycling in the visitor centre. The highlight of the trip was the tour of the impressive facilities, which included the Control Room, turbine, grab crane, waste bunker and the grate (including a view of the fire through a viewing hatch).

We all had a fantastic day and learned so much from our visit. The girls returned to school feeling enthused and inspired to be more environmentally friendly.
