Year 6 travel to France
05.06.2026

Earlier this term, Year 6 travelled to Le château d’Ebblinghem, an hour away from Calais in France for a residential trip.
On the first evening, we went to bed quite swiftly in our dorms, to be woken up to an amazing breakfast and freshly baked pain au chocolat at the boulangerie. Bruno the baker showed us how he made the bread and some of us even had the chance to get a long paddle and put the bread into the oven! Following that, we went to the amazing chevrerie where we met baby and adult goats, and tried fresh goat cheese and apple juice from the orchard.
The next morning everyone woke up early to get on the coach and go to Le Touquet market where we bought lots of lovely presents for our families (and us!). After the market we were all famished, so we had lunch looking over the gorgeous beach. Then, we played in the sand and built sculptures. In the afternoon, we tidied our room, played in the games room, and painted our nails for the last evening. Our dinner was amazing until the snails arrived! The evening activity was extremely enjoyable but sadly we had to go to bed.
Unfortunately, the last day had arrived, but we still had one more activity to embrace… La chocolaterie! Simon, our tour guide, took us on a tour of the chocolate factory where we tried cocoa nibs and so on (we even got to try some chocolate!). It went by in a flash and we had to return to school.
The trip to France was amazing and our teachers put so much effort into it. Thank you!
