An Enchanting Production of ‘The Worst Witch’
24.02.2026

Just before half term, our Year 4 girls captivated audiences with a truly enchanting production of The Worst Witch. Inspired by the much-loved story by Jill Murphy, the performance followed Mildred Hubble as her ordinary journey to City Road Academy took a magical twist, leading her instead to Cackle’s Academy for Witches. Along the way, audiences enjoyed broomstick blunders, potion mishaps and the memorable rivalry with the formidable Ethel Hallow, as Mildred discovered that courage, loyalty and determination are far more powerful than perfect spells.
The performance was a resounding success, filled with humour, warmth and wonderfully confident storytelling. Every girl took to the stage with enthusiasm and pride, embracing her role and rising to the challenge of live performance. Throughout the rehearsal process, the cast demonstrated outstanding dedication, creativity and teamwork and, week by week, their skills in acting, singing and expressive movement flourished.
It was a joyful and memorable experience for all involved, and we are incredibly proud of the confidence, camaraderie and sheer enjoyment the girls displayed both on and off the stage.
