Putting their spelling skills to the test
11.02.2026

Some of our girls in Year 5 recently took part in a Spelling Bee competition at Queen Anne’s School. Two teams made up of Lily, Aria, Olivia, Sia M, Imogen and Aalisiyah put their spelling skills to the test against teams from other schools. The girls were full of excitement and a few nerves beforehand, but once they were there, they enjoyed the occasion immensely and said it was fun!
In the first game, which was called ‘Last Man Standing’, Aria performed exceptionally well and emerged as the runner-up out of all the children in the competition. Following that, in the Quick Fire round, one group of our girls challenged themselves by choosing some of the hardest words in the competition, impressing everyone watching. The audience responded with enthusiastic applause, celebrating their effort and the joyful spirit they brought to the event.
We are incredibly proud of the girls’ determination, courage and teamwork and of how they represented the school with confidence and maturity. Well done, girls!
