A visit from a leading story teller
02.03.2023
As part of Book Week, High March was fortunate to have a visit from the author, poet and story teller, Margaret Bateson-Hill. Mrs Bateson-Hill is the bestselling author of many books for children of all ages, including The ‘Dragon Racer’ trilogy and ‘Lao Lao of Dragon Mountain’.
In her engaging sessions, Mrs Bateson-Hill read excerpts from her books and talked in depth about the creative writing process. She described how she became an author after studying Drama and English at university. As a story teller, Mrs Bateson-Hill has worked in many settings, including Buckingham Palace.
We all thoroughly enjoyed the visit and the girls had the opportunity to express their creativity through discussion, storytelling and role play. The girls all went away feeling inspired to become authors themselves.
