A ‘work-out’ for our Year 4 mathematicians
09.03.2022
On Monday 7th March, Gayhurst School hosted their annual Year 4 Maths Challenge Afternoon. Edie, Annabelle, Astrid and Karman were selected to represent High March, and in pairs they completed a number of maths challenges covering a variety of mathematical skills.
Along with nineteen other schools (38 teams), the girls started with some addition at speed to warm up their brains. The rounds which followed involved totalling dice scores, working out sequences, tangrams, rapid addition of money, sudoku and solving problems. The girls worked through each challenge with determination and a high level of concentration. There were certainly plenty of smiles by the end of the afternoon when all the boys and girls taking part were congratulated and the prizes awarded.
Well done to all the High March girls for participating with such skill and enthusiasm.
