An inspiring visit from Clara Vulliamy

On Tuesday June 11, pupils and staff at Junior House were inspired by the author and illustrator, Clara Vulliamy, who is best known for her Dixie O’Day series, a joint collaboration with her mother, the renowned children’s author, Shirley Hughes. Clara has also created a pre-school series, Martha and the Bunny Brothers and the very popular Dotty Detective series.

Clara led fun writing and illustration workshops with Year 1 and Year 2. The girls were captivated by her amazing drawings of ‘Dotty the Detective’ and learnt a great deal about how to create a realistic book character. She also read her wonderful picture books to the Nursery children.
